So would you like to learn how to put your body in fat burning mode, rather than fat storing mode?

First, understand that most bodies in today’s world are in fa.t storing mode due to:

- eating foods that provide no energy (high-fat, high-carb, high-calorie foods that lack nutrition), that actually create lethargy or the slowing down of the metabolism

- lack of exercise since most of one’s daily activities are sedentary – sitting!

To put your body in fat burning mode, the key is – reverse it:

- eat foods that are high in nutrition (fresh vegetables, fruits, wholesome grains and legumes, foods lower in calories, fat and carbs), that actually create energy and speeding up your metabolism

- begin your day exercising with a good honest workout and find ways to exercise throughout the day (biking, walking, yard work, etc.)

Here are some ways to specifically speed up your metabolism:

- use different workout methods: stretching (Yoga), wei/ght lifting, aerobic

- alternate methods throughout the week: 30 minutes jogging alternately with walking; 20 minutes wei/ght work preceding a 20 minute aerobic workout; 60 minutes of consistent moderate workout (brisk walking or hiking)

- increase your water intake to aid your body’s cleansing process

- eat smaller meals which include mostly vegetables and a small amount of lean protein, whole grains, or beans; eat fresh fruits or vegetables between meals

Add Apricots to Your Diet

Are your laugh lines looking more like crow’s feet, lately? Have you noticed a few liver spots on your hands? Or do you just want to keep Father Time at bay a little longer? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions or are just concerned with aging you might find that adding apricots to your menu might be just what the doctor ordered.

Apricots have some of the highest level and greatest variety of carotenoids of any food at that you will find at the grocery store. Carotenoids are antioxidants that help your body prevent heart disease, cut down on “bad cholesterols”, and in some cases they can help to prevent cancer. Eastern medicines has also turned to apricots to restore body fluids, help detox and clines your system of impurities, and even help satisfy thirst when water is otherwise unavailable.

The kernels or seeds in Apricots also have been found to have characteristics that are helpful to a healthy system. It has been noticed that they are useful in alleviating a nagging cough and toning the respiratory system. However, moderation is key when snacking on these seeds. The seeds have very high levels of the concentrated chemical, laetrile. Too much laetrile can be very upsetting to your digestive and urinary system(s). To avoid the negative effects of laetrile while reaping the benefits of the seeds, fully remove the tips of each seed and don’t eat more than five seeds a day.

Apricots are easy to work into your daily dietary routine. You can by them fresh at the produce department of your local store. Dried apricots are also very handy; you can keep them in your desk at work, in your gym bag or in your car. Like raisin’s, dried apricots are also very complimentary to cereal and ice cream. Finally, you might want to switch from strawberry preserves or grape jelly to apricot preserves. They can be found in the jam/jellies section of your local grocery store.

Apricots, aren’t a miracle cure all but when added to a healthy daily diet, they can help you live a long, healthy, happy life.

With buzz around obesity, it’s difficult to miss information congruent to weight loss, dieting, surgery, and exercise; although, gastric bypass and pills are amongst the least favorable options.

Scientists have actually been looking into developing a molecule that will effectively shut down the fat gene that is creating this monster of a problem. In other words, by providing an active inhibitor to the FTO (fat mass and obesity-associated gene), these experts can work toward a therapy for individuals.

According to the World Health Organization, the commonness of obesity is growing at alarming rates – This is based on data collected for both developed and underdeveloped countries. This includes overweight numbers close to 1.6 billion for adults over the age of 15, along with obese in the range of somewhere near 400 million. With such large figures, it’s difficult to think that obesity isn’t an epidemic of mass proportion.

Obesity creates many health problems; it increases the risk of premature death, diabetes, heart disease, stroke, hypertension and cancer. These are among the most severe of cases; obesity also comes with its own short term shortcomings. It’s true that most overweight people have sore bones, muscles, and suffer from shortness of breath, fatigue. It’s also natural that most people who are overweight suffer from depression or depressive symptoms.

With these new developments and studies in China, we can certainly have more hope for solving the obesity epidemic. Scientists are just beginning to learn how the fat gene actually works, but have tested and seen it’s effects on all different ethnicities.

It’s important that we all work towards avoiding the problem of obesity. The only way to spread this message is through education regarding fitness, exercise, and healthy eating habits. Although with these recent studies, Chinese scientists have made great strides in the search for a solution towards our already unhealthy planet.

The American Medical Association holds a similar view as long as the substance is consumed in moderation.

It has become a common belief that moderation and common sense when ingesting this substance as well as any other substance in anyone’s diet is the key to health. Moderation is considered the equivalent of about three cups of coffee, but of course it depends on the individual’s body mass and ability to process the substance.

Some people display a sensitivity towards caffeine and can only drink a small amount before they start feeling jittery and over stimulated, while others can drink a large amount of caffeine and fall right to sleep soon after. Caffeine does not accumulate in the blood stream or tissues, it is evacuated from the body within hours of consumption. This substance has been used to increase alertness in tired individuals in many different products including some in pill form. There appears to be no difference in the way a child’s body and an adult’s body reacts to caffeine other than the body mass compared to the amount of caffeine consumed.

Very basically, when consuming things that contain caffeine, do it in moderation, taking into account past history as far as its effects on your body.

A hectic lifestyle is no excuse

Successfully fitting fitness into your busy schedule

These days life is mainly about stress, rushing around and trying to keep up with a hectic schedule. With hardly enough time to sort out the bills, feed the kids and ensure everything at work is running smoothly, just how exactly are you supposed to fit 30 minutes exercise into each and every single day?

Creating a balance

Finding a balance between work, home and exercise is an almost impossible task for most people. However, it can be done if you really want it to!

Fitness should be a big part of your life no matter how busy it may be. It is all about putting things into perspective and getting your priorities right. In order to do this you should:

Write your daily schedule down
The easiest way to figure out where your time goes each day is to write down your schedule. Include what time you get up and what you do before you go to work. Next move on to how long it takes you to get to work, and then what you do whilst at work. Finally move on to what you do after work, how long it takes you to get home and what time you go to bed.

Once you have written your schedule you should be able to see if there is anywhere that you can make a change. For example, is there any work which you could hold back on in order to fit exercise into your life? Many people these days work through their Lunch hours and even over the hours that they are paid for, just to get their work finished. Would it really be a catastrophe if you didn’t stay behind one night a week? It probably wouldn’t and again it is all about getting your priorities right.

Work out in your lunch hour
Whilst not everybody gets an hour for lunch, if you do you might want to take advantage of it and use it to work out. More and more people are turning to working out in their lunch break at least once a week, as it seems to be the only time that they can get free. If the exercise just runs over an hour, why not ask your boss if you could do a little flexi time and perhaps work a little later or come in earlier to make the time up?

Make the little things count
If you are adamant that you cannot take 30 minutes of each day to partake in any form of exercise, then why not make small changes? Every single person can make a small change to their lifestyle, whether it is walking to work instead of taking the bus or driving, walking up the stairs instead of taking the lift, etc. There are always things we can do differently which will make us that little bit fitter.

So, overall fitting exercise into your busy schedule is not always as hard as it seems, even if it is only small changes that you are making! Every little helps and as long as you change your lifestyle a little, you are generally helping yourself out. Just do as much as you can and you will find that you get fitter in no time.

By contrast, our own fast food culture promotes high rates of disease that is related to diet.

Why are the Mediterranean and Pacific cuisines praised by nutritionists and physicians? First, the sources of protein include a lot of fish, including shellfish, squid, and octopus. Meat is likely to be lean chicken, goat, or veal. What these protein sources have in common is a low proportion of fat.

Furthermore, the protein is usually mixed with a carbohydrate, such as pasta or rice. The result is that the dishes contain optimum proportions of fat, protein, and carbohydrate, ensuring that the body is able to gain the energy it requires from the most appropriate source.

On our site you can purchase two great Berry Antioxidant powders : AnthoBerry and Orac 3000. Below is some of the latest findings supporting berry antioxidant supplementation.

Berries that contain a wide variety of phytochemicals, such as phenolic acids, flavonoids, tannins and various sterols. Berries are amongst the richest sources of antioxidants. Two of the most predominant of those antioxidants are the anthocyanins (flavonoids) and the ellagitannins. As well as antioxidants, berries are generally good sources of fibre and potassium and surprisingly of w-3 fatty acids. They are also a great component of any weight management program.

Because they are so high in antioxidants, berries have been investigated for their potential health benefits in a range of diseases where oxidative processes are important, from cancer to cardiovascular disease, impaired cognition and memory, eye and skin health. Berries also have other potentially beneficial properties, such as being antimicrobials.

So top up your berry antioxidant levels with just one or two teaspoons of our economical and delicious powders.
Do not be fooled by fads or unrealistic promises that will only lead to you dieting yourself bigger. Follow the guidelines in the IsoWhey Weight Management Program Information Booklet and eat five times per day. Main meals should include protein as should snacks. Eating more regularly in controlled portion sizes helps to speed up your metabolism and if you eat the right foods this helps you tone up and lose weight.

Take one of our newer products Ultra Renew with Resveratrol for example - this high antioxidant product is causing a storm world wide due to recent potential anti aging findings. CBS 60 minutes reported in early 2009 that Reseveratrol may slow aging and could even reverse certain aspects of aging. Your product was one of the first on the Australian market and it has the added co factors of Quercetin, Grape Seed, Grape Skin and Vitamin C to further potentiate the action of the 100mg of reveratrol. If anti aging or beauty interest you this is your product!
Your IsoWhey Weight Management Program has been formulated by Australian Nutritional Biochemist Dr Robert Buist and has been tried and tested successfully on thousands over the past 5 years. This program allows you to sustainably lose 1 to 2 kilos per week without additional exercise and to keep the weight off. It contains high quality whey protein together with a broad spectrum of vitamins and minerals that help keep you fuller for longer. Lean muscle mass is developed which means that your flabby bits tone up AND that fat is metabolised out of the body decreasing your love handles and cellulite. It also helps eliminate cravings and regulate blood sugar levels throughout the day. Unlike many inferior products on the market it contains no added sugar or artificial sweeteners, nor does it use milk powder to bulk up the product. Most importantly the shakes and bars actually taste delicious - don't think of them as a meal replacement but as a healthy meal. Click on the IsoWhey Weight Management Booklet for dietary and lifestyle guide and check out some of our testimonials.
